Forecaster’s Dream: Pleasant Weather Expected Next Seven Days

Lead Forecaster Daniel Crawley

Good Tuesday evening, hope your week is off to a good start so far. The weather has made a drastic change compared to what it was like over the weekend as much drier air has moved into North Carolina.

As you can see on the water vapor damage, the trough and upper low which scoured out all the tropical moisture is now over New England and a large expensive area of dryer air has moved into the southeast US and will park itself over the next several days.

The next seven days looks to be pretty much a temperature forecast for Western North Carolina as there will be no threats of rain. New points today are in the 40s and 50s across the region and that will remain in place at least through the end of the work week. Daytime temperatures will be nice and mild but it’s the evening and nighttime temperatures that will be phenomenal.

You thank the low Dewpoints for providing that diurnal range in air temperatures…

Surface Dewpoint Temps through Saturday

500 mb heights through Wednesday 9/21

Once we get toward the latter part of the 7-Day forecast, 500mb heights will gradually rise and once we get to early next week, temperatures may go above normal during the afternoons.
