Beautiful Weekend on the way, Below Normal Temperatures

Lead Forecaster Daniel Crawley

Good Friday evening to everyone. We dealt with another day of showers and thunderstorms across the region. Those have for the most part moved out of the region and now it sets up a gorgeous weekend for the Western Carolinas. You can see on the water vapor image where is disturbance is moving to the east. Winds aloft are quite fast out of the west.

If you notice all of the moisture over Western Cuba and extending into Florida, that is Potential Tropical Cyclone #1 , this will have no impact on the Carolinas due to those fast westerly winds aloft,

As we go through the weekend, cyclonic flow from PTC 1 and high pressure over Canada will push the surface flow out of the northeast through the entire weekend.

Surface Map (Sun PM)

Looking at the moisture loop much lower dewpoints will settle into the region late tonight and will create a very pleasant airmass for Saturday and Sunday.

The end result is a forecast that can’t be duplicated for this time of the year. Enjoy!
