Tropical Cyclone Debby churned her way on shore early Thursday Morning just North of Charleston as a tropical storm. Its mischievous path kept us forecasters in low confidence forecast right up until Wednesday. The National Weather Service did a remarkable job with their rainfall forecast. It really hit most areas super close. A heavy rain and marched west Thursday Morning, overspreading the foothills by midday. This promoted flash flood warnings across Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Lincoln, and Gaston Counties. It required flood advisories in Catawba and Rutherford. The remainder of the counties received beneficial rain without the side effects of flash flooding.
