Lead Forecaster Daniel Crawley
Good Saturday afternoon to everyone,
We continue to watch an area of low pressure off the South Carolina Coastline that is moving north. This is an non-tropical feature as it is relying on upper level support for development. The system stalled overnight along the Gulf Stream waters but its now moving north toward in the general vicinity of Charleston SC…
The timing of precipitation for today has slowed a bit due to the storm motion slowing down but as we get into tonight and Sunday, moisture will move in soaking the region. The feature will be guided by another upper low dropping southeast through the Mid-South Region. The two features will ultimately merge into one upper level feature across the Southeast US.

Here’s the latest guidance on the low and the moisture that will arrive in from the south and southeast over the next 36 hours. Waves of moisture will be accompanied by drizzle and mist in-between…
We still expect the region to get a soaking rainfall with 1 inch total expected for all and higher amounts in upslope regions…
