Lead Forecaster Daniel Crawley
Good Thursday evening, hope everyone has had a great day. The region saw a fair amount of sunshine today but subtle changes will switch the pattern back up again.
Southeast flow is already showing on with showers developing tonight across the Foothills and that will increase on Friday. All signs right now lead toward another hybrid-type setup where southeast winds upslope along the foothills locking in clouds and some moisture.
Here’s a look at the flow at around 5,000 ft. Notice the trough axis set up roughly along Interstate 20? Low pressure will follow that axis and force moisture up the eastern escarpment. This won’t be a washout by any means but more showery with mist/drizzle as well in those favored upslope areas.

There is going to be plenty of moisture in the atmosphere across the Southeast US (no real shock there). So this should prevent us from seeing a whole lot of sunshine tomorrow…

Finally, here’s a look at future radar for a 24-hour period beginning at 8 am Friday…
