Light Rain, Snow, Mix To Taunt The Area Once More

A cold front will settle through the area tonight bringing scattered rain showers across the foothills. Precipitation totals will be very light. That cold front will settle to our south and stall. Low pressure will move along the frontal boundary, likely across SC, Wednesday Evening and Wednesday Night. Light moisture will spread north across the foothills Wednesday Afternoon. This will start as widely scattered rain showers outside of the mountains and south of US 421. US 421 and North will likely see very light and scattered mix of rain, sleet, and snow. As cold air builds in Wednesday Night, precipitation will change to brief snow showers along and North of I-40. Even south of I-40 the rain may mix with snow as it begins to move away. Accumulations, if any, will be light but could cause widely scattered minor travel issues in areas that receive precipitation. This is not a scenario where the entire area receives snow or rain. Details on forecast accumulations will come tomorrow morning.
