Good Saturday evening to everyone, hope your weekend is off to an enjoyable start. Yesterdays severe weather maker has passed our region and has left the Western Carolinas in a more stable regime.

As you can see we are on the back side of the upper low which means cooler, drier conditions. Yes, there has been a good amount of clouds today but that should decrease as we head into Sunday.
Blocking Pattern for Eastern US
As we get into the late weekend and early next week our upper low just off the North Carolina Outer Banks gets trapped as heights across Eastern Canada begins to rise. This is going to block up the weather pattern for most of the upcoming week.
What you see is what you will get for several days as the flow at the surface will be from a northerly component. Sunday and even Monday will be a bit breezy across the Western Carolinas. Temperatures will slowly moderate but with really dry air being pulled in from the north it will allow for some sizeable temperature swings between daytime and nighttime. Don’t be surprised to see some 40’s a couple mornings in the Northern Foothills but afternoon temps will be pleasantly mild.
As we get toward the end of next week, the cutoff upper low will retrograde back into the Southeast bringing an influx of Atlantic tropical moisture back to the Carolinas.
