Good Saturday afternoon to everyone, what a beautiful day we have on tap across the Carolinas. There’s not very much going on across the country as a whole, we do have a significant storm across the northern plains and back into Montana. But east of the Mississippi River high pressure is firmly in control.
Temperatures this afternoon across Western North Carolina are in the 80s under mostly sunny skies. Pretty much a repeat of what we had on Friday. Even the mountains are well up into the 70’s today.
So, how long will this last?
The warm pattern should continue through Tuesday before the next frontal passage comes through. Daytime highs through Tuesday will remain in the low 80’s.
A trough will begin to settle into the Northeast by Wednesday reducing temperatures.
Temperatures will be cooler for the second half of the week as a reinforcing trough will slide in by next weekend keeping the Carolinas in a northwest flow. The temps for mid to late week will be about 8-10 degrees cooler than today. (Low 70’s, Mid 40’s).
